Customer Service Representative

Description:Responsible for serving as a central contact between customers and the Bank in all Retail banking areas.
Duties:JOB DUTIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
• Responsible for adhering to and complying with all Bank policies and procedures, all applicable federal and state laws and regulatory guidance governing financial institutions, including, but not limited to, Federal Deposit Insurance Improvement Act (FDICIA), FACT Act, Bank Secrecy Act and Regulation CC.
• Counsels new and existing customers in regard to the Bank’s retail accounts; sells the customer services best suited to his/her needs
• Responds to customer inquires; researches problems
• Opens and file maintains new accounts; sells and cross sells Bank services
• Opens, closes, adds to or make withdrawals from existing accounts; assists Tellers with procedures
• Receives applications for consumer loans from customers and dealers; closes loans
• Utilizing PC, enters consumer loans on line to data processing system
• Assists with Office opening and closing procedures, end of day balancing, unusual transactions or procedures as needed
• Assists in maintaining office records as necessary
• Serves as back up for assigned branch functions in the absence of the Customer Service Manager
• Serves as backup on the Teller line as needed
• Works on special projects as requested by the Customer Service Manager or Banking Center Manager
Qualifications:Educational:
• Preferred: A two year technical school degree in Business, Finance or Economics
Acceptable: A High school diploma or the equivalent + the attributes listed under “Previous work Experience and Training”

Previous Work Experience and Training:
• Previous teller experience (minimum 3 months) is required
• Past sales experience is mandatory
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and excellent basic math skills are required
• Excellent interpersonal skills and dependability are a must
• One year of training and practical experience in the area of consumer lending is desirable

Practical Skills:
• Strong clerical skills (10 key, keyboarding and business correspondence) are mandatory
• Good PC skills (DOS, word processing and spreadsheet) are desirable
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are vital to this position
• Must be fluent in the English language (to include reading, writing, speaking and comprehension)
